Shady Grove
Shady Grove is one of my favorite places to visit in Austin. Great food, but even better is the environment. It's a great place to get a meal outside in the shade. Place is awesome.

Horrible Service
Granted....it was New Year's Day and the restaurant was quite busy. Being in the service industry myself, I usually do not complain about slow, or even, bad service. A salad was served with no utensils and had to be eaten by hand. Drinks were slow to be filled. Dinner was delivered to a five top, again with no silverware. Service was extremely slow in trying to wrap the bill up at the end of the meal. Inaccurate charges on credit cards and cash was also not counted correctly. I went to find the waitress for help and was able to get the manager involved. No thanks to the manager, the $10 charge I should have had on my credit card, cleared through my bank for almost $30.
I have gone to Shady Grove many times in the past and been pleased overall. However, I will not be back.

Try the Fried Catfish with Queso for a delicious twist on an old standard.
It's great outdoor dining in a fun, casual setting, perhaps with a live band. How much more "Austin" do you need?

People watching is off the chain. My single brother in law almost passes out everytime we go there.
Good service, always friendly folks although busy busy.

Parking can be awful if you go on nights with live entertainment, but I tend to go here LATE, so parking has never been an issue!
The prices are good too!
